Susan began her career as a substantive tax lawyer more than 30 years ago at the Interpretative Division of Internal Revenue Service and then on the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation for three years. At the Joint Committee on Taxation, Susan was heavily involved in the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984, when Congress substantially revised the tax law applying to life insurance companies. At the firm since 1985, she focuses on issues dealing with insurance company taxation, insurance products, accounting methods, reinsurance transactions and financial products, including work on legislative projects in the same areas. Susan is a 1973 graduate of Cornell University Law School.
